Hemigenia purpurea R.Br. APNI*
Description: Shrub to 0.1–2 m high.
Leaves in whorls of 3; lamina linear, 1–1.6 cm long, to 1 mm wide; apex acute-mucronate; base cuneate; surfaces glabrous; petiole 2–4 mm long.
Calyx 5–10 mm long; lobes much longer than tube, glabrous. Corolla 8–10 mm long, blue. Stamens all fertile; lower anthers with connective glabrous and attenuate or bearing an imperfect loculus at end; upper anthers with connective dilated and bearded or crested at end with short hairs.
Flowering: mostly August–April
Distribution and occurrence: Common in coastal and mountain heath, from Sydney district to Blue Mtns, also recorded for Nowra area.
