Description: Tree up to 7 m high, new growth tomentose with dark brown hairs.
Leaves 10–30 cm long, leaflets 4–12, elliptic-oblong to oblong, sometimes curved, 5–15 cm long, 2–6 cm wide, apex obtuse or retuse, base sometimes asymmetric, margins entire, both surfaces ± glabrous, lower surface paler; petiole 4–8 cm long, petiolules 3–5 mm long.
Panicles 10–25 cm long. Sepals persistent below fruit. Petals 10–12 mm long, white.
Capsule ± obcordate, 12–14 mm long, 25–30 mm diam., orange, finely hairy, drying woody; seeds three-quarters enclosed in a red aril.
