Description: Shrub up to 4 m high, new growth rusty-tomentose.
Leaves 10–35 cm long, petiole and rachis winged, usually irregularly toothed; leaflets 6–10, elliptic to oblanceolate, mostly 5–15 cm long, 2–5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base attenuate, margins few-toothed to ± entire, both surfaces glabrous, green and shining; petiole 3–8 cm long, petiolules 0–2 mm long.
Flowers in few-flowered axillary racemes. Sepals persistent below fruit. Petals 10–12 mm long, white.
Capsule 20–25 mm long, 30–35 mm diam., valves leathery, brownish, finely pubescent; seeds ± globose, nearly enveloped by an orange aril.
