Halodule uninervis (Forssk.) Asch. APNI* 
Description: Submerged marine or estuarine rhizomatous perennial; rhizome with 1–6 roots and a short erect stem at each node.
Leaves with sheath 1–3.5 cm long, more persistent than the blade; blade narrow-linear, 6–15 cm long, 0.25–5 mm wide though usually 0.5–3 mm wide; apex 3-toothed, the lateral teeth usually better developed than the central one; midrib dark and expanded at the apex but not forked.
Male flowers on peduncle 6–20 mm long; anthers 2–3 mm long, red, the upper attached 0.25–0.5 mm above the lower one. Female flowers subsessile; styles 25–45 mm long, terminal.
Fruit 2–2.5 mm long, with a beak to 1 mm long.
Flowering: rarely recorded.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in open estuarine localities or in and around reefs in the ocean; north from Arrawarra Headland (Coffs Harbour area).
