Hakea pulvinifera L.A.S.Johnson APNI*
Description: Root-suckering shrub to c. 4 m high with thick tesselated bark, young branchlets pubescent.
Leaves c. 10 cm long, mostly divided into 2–7 terete pungent-pointed segments 2–4 cm long and c. 2 mm diam., glabrous.
Conflorescence raceme-like, rachis 5–8 cm long, flowers paired on prominent pulvini. Perianth 9–12 mm long, yellowish white. Style c. 18 mm long.
Follicle not seen.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Confined to a single population on a hard rocky hillside below Keepit Dam (Gunnedah); rare, apparently reproduces only by root suckers.
