Description: Tall shrub or small trees, young shoots sparsely silky or glabrous.
Leaves mostly narrow-elliptic to lanceolate, 5–15 cm long, mostly 10–35 mm wide, apex acute, glabrous, pale green and sometimes glaucous, lateral veins at acute angles, obscure; petiole 2–5 mm long.
Conflorescences axillary, clusters 14–20-flowered. Perianth 5–8 mm long, white, glabrous.
Follicle ± ovoid, 20–23 mm long, 10–20 mm wide, covered with black spots and sparsely covered with warts c. 0.5 mm high; beak upturned.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in wet sclerophyll forest, often near rainforest; on the coast and adjacent ranges, chiefly north of the Clarence R.
