Description: Multistemmed shrub to 1 m high, young stems sparsely hairy.
Leaves terete, mostly 5–7 cm long, 1–1.5 mm diam., glabrous, mucro c. 1 mm long.
Conflorescences short, 6–12-flowered, raceme-like with axis c. 1 cm long, often clustered on the stems below the leaves; pedicels c. 1 cm long, glabrous. Perianth 10–15 mm long, pink to crimson, glabrous. Style c. 40 mm long.
Follicle ± ovoid, 50–70 mm long, 30–40 mm wide, wrinkled, rough but without distinct warts, shortly beaked.
Flowering: late autumn to winter.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in dry sclerophyll forest on the coast and adjacent ranges from Newcastle south to the Glenorie district.
