Description: Shrub or small tree, mostly 6–10 m high.
Leaves ± oblong-elliptic to obovate or narrow-ovate, 3.5–14 cm long, 15–40 mm wide, apex acuminate, base rounded to cuneate, margins entire and ± undulate, glabrous, upper surface green and glossy, lower surface paler, small hairy domatia usually obvious, venation not prominent; petiole 5–10 mm long.
Inflorescences 4–8 cm long. Calyx 4–5 mm long, lobes c. 3 mm long. Petals 7–8 mm long, yellow.
Drupe ± globose, 10–15 mm diam., shining black; with persistent recurved sepals at base.
Flowering: and fruits most of year, chiefly spring to summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Widespread in warmer rainforest, north from Gloucester district.
