Grevillea shiressii Blakely APNI*
Description: Shrub 2–5 m high.
Leaves entire, lanceolate to elliptic, 8–19 cm long, 1–3 cm wide, glabrous, margins undulate, intramarginal vein 2–4 mm from margin.
Inflorescences 2–9-flowered; receptacle very oblique to lateral. Perianth green becoming blue-grey then translucent cream, saccate, 6–10 mm across, glabrous outside, tuberculate inside; limb coherent, inverted after anthesis. Gynoecium stipitate, 27–32 mm long, glabrous or with few erect hairs; style red-brown to mauve, pollen presenter lateral.
Follicle usually glabrous.
Flowering: mainly spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows along creek banks in wet sclerophyll forest; sandy soil on Hawkesbury sandstone, restricted to the Gosford area.
