Grevillea mollis Olde & Molyneux APNI*
Description: Usually open slender shrub, 1–2 m high.
Leaves thin, usually oblong to linear oblong, 2.8–10 cm long, 4–14 mm wide, margins entire, undulate, shortly recurved, upper surface pubescent or with a sparse indumentum of spreading hairs, lower surface with indumentum of incurved hairs; apex acute.
Conflorescences 6–20-flowered. Perianth scarlet, with sparse, short, erect hairs outside and dense indumentum inside, bearded in the basal 6–8 mm; limb ± cubic, apically depressed. Gynoecium 16–17 mm long; ovary glabrous rarely with scattered, erect hairs; style scarlet, glabrous in the lower half and a sparse short indumentum in the upper half; pollen presenter lateral, flat to slightly concave.
Follicle smooth, faintly ribbed near the dorsal suture.
Flowering: Flowers mostly winter–spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows on steep slopes amongst granite rocks in tall eucalypt forest, confined to Gibraltar Ra. N.P., rare.
