Goodenia glomerata Maiden & Betche APNI*
Description: Erect herb to 50 cm high, woody at base, yellowish to grey-villous when young.
Leaves mostly towards base, elliptic to oblanceolate, mostly 6–20 cm long, 10–22 mm wide, margins toothed to lyrate, narrowing basally.
Flowers in compact spikes to 12 cm long on almost leafless scapes; stalks almost obsolete, bracteoles present. Sepals linear-lanceolate, 8–10 mm long. Corolla 20–30 mm long, yellow, with cottony and yellow stellate hairs outside, pubescent inside, with enations, ± auriculate; wings c. 2 mm wide. Indusium transverse-oblong.
Fruit cylindrical, 8–9 mm long; valves 2 split ± to base; seeds elliptic to circular, c. 1.5 mm long, brown, reticulate-pitted.
Flowering: chiefly October–January
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in swamps, heath, and on or below seepage zones on sandstones and conglomerate; from Southern Highlands (e.g. Bundanoon, Wingello), Budawangs, and the Shoalhaven region (Jervis Bay to Ulladulla). updated by K.L.Gibbons, October 2021, from text suggested by Steve Douglas.
