Gonocarpus montanus (Hook.f.) Orchard APNI* 
Description: Prostrate or ascending perennial herb, usually 10–15 cm high; stems 4-angled; sparsely hairy with short appressed hairs.
Leaves ovate to broad-lanceolate, usually 4–8 mm long, 2–5 mm wide, toothed with appressed teeth, sparsely hairy with short appressed hairs, becoming glabrous; shortly petiolate.
Primary bracts of inflorescences opposite, at least towards the base. Petals 1.5–1.8 mm long.
Fruit grey, ovoid, c. 1.5 mm long, 8-ribbed, often with 2 oblique calluses between the ribs.
Distribution and occurrence: in open alpine habitats; south from Canberra.
