Galium microlobum I.Thomps. APNI* Description: Annual herb, sparsely hairy. Stems to 0.5 mm diam. with angles slender to slightly broadened.
Leaves and stipules in whorls of 4, leaves oblanceolate, narrow-elliptic, narrow-lanceolate or narrow-oblong-elliptic, 1–10 mm long, 0.5–2 mm long; margin recurved to revolute; apex acute sometimes with an apical hair.
Inflorescences of 1- to 3-flowered cymes, shorter than whorls. Flowers with corolla 0.8–1.0 mm diam., greenish-cream, glabrous; ovary more of less circular, 0.4 mm diam., glabrous.
Developing fruit dull to sublustrous, smooth to areolate; mericarps reniform, 0.8–1.0 mm long, 0.4–0.6 mm wide, dark-brown or dark purple, smooth or mildly reticulate-rugose.
Flowering: Flowers late winter to spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Occurs in central to western NSW and northern Victoria and eastern South Australia. Grows in rocky outcrops of various geology including granites and sandstones in arid to semi-arid environments in woodland and grassland. Often associated with Triodia species.
