Galium liratum N.A.Wakef. APNI*
Description: Creeping or procumbent annual or biennial; stems several, 15–30 cm long, with retrorse prickles or ± glabrous.
Leaves and stipules in whorls of 4, rarely 5, obovate to elliptic, 10–15 mm long, 2.5–5 mm wide, apex obtuse-mucronate to broadly acute, lamina sparsely hairy; conspicuously petiolate.
Inflorescences 1–5-flowered; peduncles to 1 mm long; pedicels 0.5–1.5 mm long, straight to ± curved. Flowers 1–1.4 mm long, white.
Fruit c. 1.3 mm long, with 5–7 irregular longitudinal ribs.
Flowering: usually winter–spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in moist sites in sclerophyll forest or woodland, often among rocks; south from Armidale.
