Galium binifolium N.A.Wakef. APNI*
Description: Prostrate to scrambling annual or perennial; stems little branched, 20–50 cm long, usually with some retrorse prickles or smooth.
Leaves larger than the stipules, at least on the lower branches, narrow-elliptic, 5–12 mm long, 1–3 mm wide, apex acute, surfaces with a few antrorse hairs mainly on margins and midrib; petiole minute.
Inflorescences commonly 3-flowered but up to c. 8-flowered; peduncles 4–25 mm long; pedicels mostly 2–5 mm long. Flowers c. 1 mm long, cream to yellowish, often with a reddish or purple tinge.
Fruit c. 1.5 mm long, wrinkled, ± glabrous.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll forest and woodland, often on slopes and near creeks; widespread.
