Description: Glaucous annual, mostly 20–60 cm high, robust, spreading or erect.
Leaves variously pinnatisect, segments channelled, ± linear, usually < 1 mm wide.
Inflorescence usually shortly pedunculate; bracts at least as long as the pedicels. Sepals 2.5–3.5 mm long, broader than corolla. Corolla 6–7 mm long; pink with darker tip.
Fruit with neck equalling pedicel tip, wrinkled.
Flowering: winter to spring.
Distribution and occurrence: weed of drier inland districts, in pasture or cropland. Native of Eur.
