Description: Small much-branched shrub, glabrescent with age.
Leaves few, lanceolate to ± oblong, 4–10 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, flat or with margins ± revolute, midrib not prominent, surfaces greyish, upper surface ± glabrous, lower surface glabrous to finely pubescent.
Flowers in irregular dichasia, often in long false monochasia; bracts and bracteoles ± oblong to ovate, 4–10 mm long, upper surface with soft spreading hairs, most of lower surface exposed, often mealy; cupular sheath ± fused to calyx. Calyx 5–6 mm long, bristly. Petals 6–8 mm long. Stamens 6.
Seeds reticulate.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows on sand flats and salt pans, in semi-arid districts.
