Epilobium hirtigerum A.Cunn. APNI* 
Description: Robust hirsute stoloniferous perennial, to over 100 cm high, often greyish in appearance, densely covered with long spreading hairs and usually with a layer of shorter erect hairs, glandular hairs present in the flowering region; stem bases exfoliating and rather woody.
Leaves linear to very narrow-lanceolate, 1.5–6 cm long, 2–8 mm wide, sparsely toothed, sessile.
Flowers with a conspicuous ring of hairs inside the hypanthium. Petals to 8 mm long, white or purplish pink.
Fruit 3.5–6 cm long, hirsute; pedicel 6–15 mm long; seeds c. 1.3 mm long, papillose and comose.
Flowering: spring–summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Widespread in moist and often weedy places.
