Epacris pinoidea Crowden & Menadue APNI* Description: Semi-erect to erect branched shrub to 50 cm but occasionally to 1 m; young branches rounded, glabrous, red-brown; old stems dark brown, lead scars prominent.
Leaves flat, spreading, oblong to elliptic to oblanceolate, 8–14 mm long, 3–4 mm wide, glabrous; apex obtuse; base cuneate; margin entire; single main vein prominent; petiole with sparse hairs on adaxial surface < 1 mm long.
Flowers white, 8–11 mm diam., few clustered near ends of new branches, pedicels 1–1.5 mm long; bracts ovate, cream with greenish tinge, glabrous, apex obtuse, margin ciliolate; sepals cream with greenish tinge, 5–6 mm long, oblong to ovate, apex acute, margin ciliolate; corolla tube 5–7 mm long, 4 mm wide at throat, campanulate, lobes 3–4 mm long, apex rounded; corolla caducous. Anthers brown, 1 mm long on shorter filaments, sub-sessile at base of lobes. Ovary approximately 2 mm diam., glabrous; style 5–6.8 mm long, swollen in the lower 1/3; stigma rounded, reaching above or to top of anthers; nectary scales truncate 1/5 height of ovary.
