Epacris crassifolia R.Br. APNI*
Description: Procumbent or sometimes ascending shrub to c. 20 cm high; stems with prominent ridged leaf scars; branchlets glabrous or pubescent.
Leaves ± erect to spreading, obovate or elliptic, 5–13 mm long, 1.7–5 mm wide, apex ± obtuse, base cuneate, margins thickened, entire and sometimes ciliate; lamina thick, flat to ± concave, glabrous or hairy in some forms; petiole 0.6–1.8 mm long.
Flowers clustered near end of branches, variable in size, 2.8–5.5 mm diam., white or cream; peduncle 1.5–5 mm long; bracts usually acute with ciliate margins. Sepals 3.1–7 mm long. Corolla tube 5.4–22.2 mm long; lobes 1.2–4 mm long. Anthers within tube.
Capsule 1.8–2.8 mm long.
Flowering: November–January
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in skeletal sandy soils on dry or wet sandstone rock ledges and crevices, from the coast to the Blue Mtns.
