Embelia australiana (F.Muell.) F.M.Bailey APNI* 
Description: Woody climber or in juvenile stages a scandent shrub with zigzag branchlets, leaves 2-ranked, glabrous.
Leaves elliptic to broad-elliptic, mostly 3–8 cm long, 1.5–4 cm wide, apex ± acuminate, base ± rounded, margins entire or almost so, glabrous; petiole 3–10 mm long.
Flowers in short axillary racemes. Petals 4, 1–2 mm long.
Fruit 5–8 mm diam., globose, blackish purple.
Flowering: late spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in warmer rainforest north from the Wyong district.
