Description: Perennial herb with weakly developed rootstock, basal part of stems creeping and rooting, apical part decumbent to ascending or erect; stems up to 65 cm long, glabrous to sparsely puberulous.
Leaves ovate to elliptic (rarely narrowly or broadly so), largest 2–8(–10) × 0.7–2.6 cm, apex subacute to broadly rounded (rarely retuse), glabrous (rarely with a few puberulent hairs along midrib) beneath, with puberulous midrib above (very rarely with scattered capitate glands), margin minutely puberulent-ciliate or glabrous.
Flowers in condensed axillary cymes or some solitary; calyx 4–8(–9 in fruit) mm long, glabrous (rarely with a few hairs along veins); corolla 6–9(-12) mm long with almost symmetrical limb, lobes oblong, recurved, white or pale mauve, mauve, purple or lilac, puberulent.
Fruit a capsule 7–10 mm long. Ripe capsule longer than calyx.
Distribution and occurrence: First reported in 2023 at a single locality at Revesby in western Sydney. Additional naturalised populations have since been reported between Mullumbimby and Iluka in the North Coast. Often found in drainage lines, lawns, and other disturbed areas.
