Dodonaea pinnata Sm. APNI*
Description: Shrub to 1.5 m high.
Leaves imparipinnate, 1.8–4.3 cm long; lateral leaflets 10–16, rarely to 26, usually narrow-obovate, 4–9 mm long and 2–2.5 mm wide, apex entire, base cuneate, margins revolute, densely hirsute; terminal leaflet small and lobe-like; petiole 4–5.5 mm long.
Flowers in terminal clusters, individual flowers solitary in axils of bracts or leaves; pedicels 3–7 mm long. Sepals 4 or 5, ovate or sometimes ± lanceolate, 1.6–4.5 mm long, persistent. Stamens 8–10, rarely 11 or 12. Ovary villous.
Capsule 4-winged, 14–21 mm long, 15.5–18 mm wide, rarely to 22 mm, usually glabrous; wings 3.5–6 mm wide.
Distribution and occurrence: in dry sclerophyll forest on sandstone derived soils confined to Nepean and Hawkesbury R. systems.
