Description: Erect shrub to 3 m high.
Leaves either irregularly pinnatifid or irregularly 2–12-lobed or rarely leaf entire; lamina linear to linear-oblanceolate, obtuse, 1.5–5.5 cm long, 1–2.5 mm wide, glabrous to sparsely hairy; lobes 1–1.5 mm long, rarely to 5 mm, apex obtuse or rounded, base narrowly attenuate; sessile.
Flowers 2 or 3 together; pedicels 3–6.5 mm long. Sepals 3 or 4 ovate, 1.6–2.7 mm long, not persistent. Stamens 6–8. Ovary glabrous.
Capsule 3- or rarely 4-winged, 10.5–15 mm long, 14–21 mm wide, glabrous; wings 4–7 mm wide.
Distribution and occurrence: in open woodland or shrubland in rocky arid sites.
