Diuris aurea Sm. APNI* 
Description: Terrestrial herb.
Leaves 1 or 2, linear, 10–20 cm long, 4–6 mm wide, conduplicate.
Raceme 30–60 cm high, 2–5-flowered. Flowers golden yellow to orange with dark markings on the labellum an dorsal sepal, c. 3.5 c. across. Dorsal sepal broad-ovate, 8–15 mm long, 7–14 mm wide, obliquely erect. Lateral sepals linear to oblanceolate or spathulate, 10–25 mm long, 2–5 mm wide, deflexed, usually parallel. Petals obliquely erect, divergent; lamina broad-ovate to broad-obovate, 7–17 mm long, 6–14 mm wide; claw 5–8 mm long, dark-coloured, curved. Labellum 10–16 mm long; lateral lobes elliptic to cuneate, 4–6 mm long, 2–4 mm wide, margins irregularly toothed; midlobe broad-ovate when flattened, 7–13 mm wide, ridged along midline; callus of 2 divergent ridges 6–7 mm long.
Flowering: August–November
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in moist grass in sclerophyll forest in coastal and near-coastal districts; north of Marulan to the Hunter Valley.
