Deyeuxia parviseta Vickery APNI* Description: Loosely tufted perennial to 1.2 m high.
Leaves with ligule membranous, truncate, jagged, 1–4 mm long, scaberulous; blade 2–4 mm wide, grooved and scabrous.
Panicle loose, 7–23 cm long, laxly spreading; the branches sometimes subnodding, filiform, 2–6-nate. Spikelets c. 2–2.5 mm long, not conspicuously laterally compressed when young. Glumes unequal or subequal, obtuse, 1-nerved, somewhat keeled, ultimately gaping. Lemma equalling or exceeding glumes, truncate, finely and densely scaberulous to almost smooth, 5-nerved, with a minute dorsal awn attached immediately below the apex, sometimes scarcely separated from the lemma and not or scarcely exceeding it; callus short, bearded with rather stiff hairs 0.3–1.2 mm long. Palea subequal to lemma.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in damp and shady sclerophyll forest or rainforest, often in steep gorges.
