Deyeuxia microseta Vickery APNI*
Description: Erect, slender, rather loosely tufted perennial to 1.2 m high.
Leaves with ligule membranous, 3–4 mm long, obtuse, laciniate; blade 1.5–5 mm wide, often scabrous.
Panicle shortly and somewhat divaricately spreading or contracted and sublinear, not very dense, 2.5–16 cm long, with short, sparsely divided, 2- or 3-nate branches. Spikelets 3.5–5 mm long, laterally compressed. Glumes scarious towards the margins, acute, unequal, 1-nerved, keeled, somewhat gaping. Lemma minutely but densely scaberulous, lanceolate, rather acute or very narrow-truncate at the apex, shorter than the upper glume, 3–5-nerved, with a minute, dorsal awn just below the apex; awn not or very shortly exceeding the lemma; callus densely barbed with hairs 0.5–1.5 mm long. Palea slightly shorter than the lemma.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in montane sclerophyll forest, especially wetter areas.
