Deyeuxia gunniana (Nees) Benth. APNI*
Description: Slender erect or ascending perennial to 0.4 m high.
Leaves with ligule to 1 mm long, obtuse or truncate; blade very fine, sometimes almost filiform or ± bristly, 0.5–0.8 mm wide, smooth or finely scaberulous.
Panicle oblong or lanceolate to pyramidal, erect, 2–9 cm long, with short, rather rigid, spreading, 2–5-nate branches, spikelets borne singly at the ends of the ultimate branches. Spikelets 1.7–2 mm long, slightly laterally compressed. Glumes ovate, subequal or unequal, 1-nerved, acute to obtuse, somewhat keeled, rather widely gaping, c. 0.8–1.2 mm long. Lemma nearly twice as long as glumes, truncate, 3–5-nerved, with a short dorsal awn immediately below the apex; awn very short, c. 0.5 mm long, exceeding the lemma, rigid; callus shortly barbed. Palea equalling the lemma.
Flowering: spring–summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in shady or damp areas in forest or swamps.
