Description: Shrub or small tree with weeping branches, to 14 m high; bark corky.
Phyllodes linear-elliptic, 4–20 cm long, 4–12 mm wide, apex and base tapered, green, discolorous; venation fine, parallel.
Racemes 8–15-flowered; rachis 10–27 mm long including 2–4 mm peduncle. Calyx 4–5.5 mm long including 1.5–2.5 mm receptacle; upper 2 teeth united in a truncate emarginate lip. Corolla usually pure yellow or with faint red markings.
Pod 7–9 mm long, 4–5.5 mm wide.
Flowering: September–October
Distribution and occurrence: Mostly in wet sclerophyll forest, on coastal hills to mountain slopes and ridges, 50-1100 m altitude; north from Comboyne.
