Cyperus curvistylis J.Kern APNI* Description: Small perennial with short rhizome; culms tufted, slender, erect, to 35 cm tall.
Leaves shorter than culms.
Inflorescence a terminal cluster of 2–5 spikelets; involucral bracts 2 or 3 longer than inflorescence. Spikelets c. 10 mm long, 8–20-flowered, axis narrowly winged; glumes 1–2-nerved on each side, c. 1.5 mm long; stamens 3; style 3-fid; style-base persistent on nut and recurved, c. 0.3–0.4 mm long.
Nuts brown, elliptical in outline, triquetrous in cross-section, about 2/3 as long as glume.
Flowering: Summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Found once near Woodenbong. Also in SE Queensland. Associated with drier rainforest in NSW.
