Description: Small tree; new growth, branchlets, leaf rachises and peduncles minutely hairy to glabrous.
Leaves 17–30 cm long, leaflets 8–20, narrowly oblong-elliptic to oblanceolate, 4–9 cm long, 1–2.5 cm wide, apex usually acuminate, base obtuse to acute, margins regularly and bluntly toothed to almost entire, glabrous; several glabrous pit domatia usually prominent; petiole 3–10 cm long, petiolules 4–10 mm long.
Panicles 6–10 cm long, pedicels 2–4 mm long. Calyx 2.5–4 mm long. Petals c. 2 mm long. Disc tomentose.
Capsule ± globose to obovoid, 10–15 mm long and diam., red or brown; aril orange.
Distribution and occurrence: Mostly in warmer rainforest, commonly in regrowth; north from the Bulga-Comboyne area.
