Cryptandra propinqua A.Cunn. ex Fenzl APNI*
Description: Rigid, much-branched shrub to 1 m high, branches ± stellate-hairy.
Leaves ± linear, flat or terete, 2–10 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, upper surface ± glabrous, lower surface finely tomentose; stipules linear, c. 2 mm long.
Inflorescence spike-like, usually on short lateral branches; bracts ± enclosing hypanthium. Sepals at least as long as hypanthium, not spreading and exposing the stamens; anthers ± sessile.
Flowering: late winter to spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Widespread on the ranges and in inland regions, on the coast scattered, usually restricted to sandstone sites from near Grafton south to Jervis Bay.
