Cryptandra longistaminea F.Muell. APNI*
Description: Much-branched shrub, usually 50–80 cm high, not spinose.
Leaves ovate to linear, 2–4 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, margins recurved to revolute, upper surface glabrous, lower surface finely tomentose with some longer hairs on midvein; stipules bristle-like, c. 1 mm long.
Flowers numerous, crowded on the smaller branches, but not quite sessile. Brown bracts imbricate around the base of the pubescent hypanthium. Sepals 1.5–2 mm long, at least as long as hypanthium; spreading when flowers open. Stamens exserted, filaments erect, c. 1 mm long.
Flowering: late winter to spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Widespread but not common, chiefly in open forest from the coast to the plains; on the coast north from Grafton, rare on the tablelands, north from the Gilgandra area on the Slopes, rare in inland areas, in mallee communities north of Hillston.
