Description: Prostrate subshrub; stems matted or cushion-forming, to 60 cm long, rooting at base and nodes, mostly glabrous.
Leaves crowded in upper part of short shoots, linear to narrow-oblanceolate, 0.6–1.3 cm long, 1–2 mm wide, apex obtuse to subacute, lamina shiny, glabrous except for margins of youngest leaves often with stiff, white hairs, midvein distinct; ± sessile; stipules triangular, margins ciliate.
Flowers terminal on erect branchlets, sessile. Male flowers with calyx absent; corolla obconical to narrowly funnel-shaped, c. 6 mm long, lobes shorter than tube. Female flowers with short, tubular calyx; corolla narrow obconical, 3–3.5 mm long, lobes shorter than tube; style branches 2.
Drupe oblate, c. 3 mm wide, pale violet-grey.
Flowering: chiefly summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Confined to the high country on dry soils and rocky crevices; south from Kiandra.
