Coprosma baueri Endl. APNI* Description: Shrub or small tree. Young branchlets puberulous.
Leaves light green, glossy, not fetid when bruised; petiole 8–15 mm long, glabrous; lamina obovate, 2.5–6 cm long, 1.5–4 cm wide; base attenuate onto petiole; margins slightly recurved; apex rounded-truncate to shallowly emarginate; primary veins visible above and below, (3-) 4 (-5) on each side of midrib, with small domatia in their axils beneath; stipules triangular, 1–1.5 mm long.
Calyx obscure. Corolla green, 3–4 mm long. Male flowers in clusters of 3–8; filaments 3–4 mm long; anthers 2 mm long. Female flowers 1–3 together; stigmatic arms 6–7 mm long.
Fruit orange, slightly obovoid, 6–7 mm long.
Distribution and occurrence: Collected once in 1952 on the Central Coast of NSW, apparently naturalised. Otherwise resitricted to Norfolk Is.
