Conospermum ellipticum Sm. APNI* Synonyms: Conospermum ellipticum subsp. ellipticum APNI*
Description: Erect shrub 50–80 cm high with virgate branches, hoary-tomentose to glabrous.
Leaves ascending to spreading, not twisted, elliptic to obovate, 0.5–2.5 cm long, 3–8 mm wide, apex subulate, glabrous.
Inflorescences paniculate; peduncles ascending, 1–4 cm long, longer than the leaves. Perianth 6–8 mm long, cream to white.
Nut 2–3 mm long, hairy.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in wet heath on shallow sandy soil on sandstone, on the coast from Botany Bay to Jervis Bay, also recorded from the NC and near Kanangra Walls.
NSW subdivisions: ?NC, CC, SC, ?CT
Intermediates between this species and C. taxifolium are found in areas where they grow together.
