Colobanthus affinis (Hook.) Hook.f. APNI*
Description: Tufted perennial herb.
Leaves linear, 15–50 mm long; apex acuminate, sometimes with a very short hair c. 0.2 mm long; lamina soft, often recurved, somewhat flaccid.
Pedicels 25–60 mm long. Sepals broad-triangular, c. 3 mm long, obtuse to ± acute.
Capsule c. 4 mm long, longer than calyx; seeds yellowish brown, smooth.
Flowering: summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in moist alpine areas above 1900 m. alt., often in grassland and herbfields, sometimes a colonizer of disturbed areas.
