Cicendia quadrangularis (Dombey ex Lam.) Griseb. APNI* 
Description: Annual 3–8 cm high, little-branched but rarely from the rosette, glabrous, branches sometimes ridged.
Basal leaves lanceolate to oblanceolate, 3–5 mm long, 1–3 mm wide, apex acute or obtuse, often withering early; stem leaves erect, ovate to lanceolate, 2–4 mm long, 1–2 mm wide.
Flowers mostly solitary. Calyx tube 2–4 mm long, lobes c. 0.5 mm long. Corolla funnel-shaped, yellow; tube 4–8 mm long; lobes 2–3 mm long.
Capsule 3–5 mm long, splitting only at apex.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Naturalized in moist sites along creeks; south from Sydney. Native of N Amer.
