Cicendia filiformis (L.) Delarbre APNI*
Description: Annual herb 3–15 cm high, little-branched with branches rising from the basal rosette, branches ridged to quadrangular.
Basal leaves densely clustered, spreading to recurved, linear 2–15 mm long, c. 2 mm wide, apex acute, slightly fleshy but soon withering; stem leaves erect, linear to narrow-lanceolate, 2–6 mm long, c. 1 mm wide, apex acute.
Calyx tube c. 2 mm long; lobes 1–1.5 mm long. Flowers mostly solitary. Corolla cylindrical to narrow-urceolate, yellow; tube 5–7 mm long, lobes c. 3 mm long.
Capsule 3–4 mm long, splitting only at apex.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Naturalized in moist sites in heath on sand; chiefly from coastal sites in Sydney. Native of Eur.
