Description: Terrestrial herb.
Leaves 2.
Flower broad, c. 25 mm across, reddish to purplish brown. Dorsal sepal obovate, 19–21 mm long, 7–9 mm wide; osmophore 2–3 mm long. Lateral sepals erect and curved forwards, 15–18 mm long, c. 2.5 mm wide; osmophore c. 1 mm long. Petals lanceolate, 15–18 mm long, 4–4.5 mm wide, divergent. Labellum broad-cordate, 11–12.5 mm long, 9–12 mm wide, with c. 12 linear to terete, erect, dark calli on the basal two-thirds, the largest c. 4 mm long.
Flowering: November–January
Distribution and occurrence: Occurs among grass in sclerophyll forest of mountainous regions to c. 1200 m alt.; chiefly north from the Blue Mtns.
