Chenopodium auricomiforme Murr & Thell. APNI*
Description: Erect annual or short-lived perennial to c. 1 m high.
Leaves mealy below when young; lower leaves hastate, lamina to 10 cm long, to 7 cm wide, petiole c. as long as lamina; upper leaves gradually decreasing in all dimensions and becoming ovate to lanceolate.
Inflorescence terminal, paniculate, with branches densely packed with glomerules each of several flowers. Flowers bisexual or female, c. 1 mm diam. Perianth almost glabrous, 3–5-lobed, free almost to base. Stamens 5 or 0.
Fruit falling free from perianth. Seed horizontal, c. 1 mm diam., brown to black, almost circular, with a faint reticulate pattern.
