Cassytha filiformis L. APNI*
Description: Stems bright yellow-green, orange to dark red, drying irregularly striate; mostly < 1 mm thick, pubescent to glabrescent; haustoria 1–2 mm long.
Flowers and fruits sessile in spikes.
Fruit ovoid to globose, 4–8 mm long, glabrous, green or orange-red on maturing, rarely white; commonly drying black.
Flowering: all year round.
Distribution and occurrence: Chiefly in trop. regions; north from the Gloucester district.
