Cassinia quinquefaria R.Br. APNI* Synonyms: Cassinia sp. D sensu Everett (1992) APNI*
Description: Shrub 1–3 m high; stems olive or red, usually resinous and with spreading glandular hairs.
Leaves linear, 2–4 cm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, apex acute, margins revolute, concolorous, upper surface glandular and sticky, lower surface minutely pubescent, with 2 prominent parallel main veins above.
Inflorescence a dense, pyramidal panicle 5–10 cm long, 4–6 cm diam. Heads oblong to campanulate at maturity, 2.5–3 mm long, 1.5–3 mm diam.; involucral bracts in 4 or 5 longitudinally ranked rows although this evident only at maturity, ovate, with opaque white limbs. Florets 5 or 6, creamy-white.
Achenes c. 0.8 mm long, glabrous; pappus 2–2.5 mm long.
Flowering: most of year but mainly summer–autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in open sites in dry sclerophyll forest and woodland on a variety of soils; widespread.
