Description: Spreading, light green, annual glabrous herb.
Older leaves with lamina rhombic, to c. 7 mm long and 5 mm wide, sometimes apiculate and with lateral teeth, 3–5-veined with an open-ended vein running to each tooth.
Flowers usually paired with 1 of each sex; bracts absent. Stamen with the filament shorter than the ripe fruit.
Fruit subsessile, usually c. 1.1 mm long and 1.3 mm wide with a broad pale wing.
Distribution and occurrence: Usually grows in damp shady habitats, chiefly in the coastal districts.
