Boronia rubiginosa A.Cunn. ex Endl. APNI* Description: Shrub 0.4–2 m high; branchlets stellate-pubescent.
Leaves pinnate with 3–7 leaflets; rachis 4–20 mm long, winged; leaflets narrow-elliptic to broad-elliptic or spathulate, 4–30 mm long, 3–12 mm wide, apex obtuse or retuse, margins entire and recurved flat, glabrous to sparsely stellate-hairy, lower surface prominently paler; petiole 1–12 mm long.
Inflorescences axillary, 1–3-flowered; pedicels 3–15 mm long. Calyx glabrous to stellate-tomentose. Petals 6–10 mm long, valvate, pale to bright pink, stellate-tomentose to glabrescent, persistent in fruit.
Cocci glabrous or densely hirsute.
Flowering: Flowers July–November
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in dry sclerophyll forest on skeletal sandstone-derived soils, chiefly in the Sydney region, from Lees Pinch to Berrima. Previously included in Boronia ruppii Cheel, which is restricted to the Woods Reef serpentine (north western slopes).
