Atriplex crassipes J.M.Black APNI* 
Description: Low spreading decumbent to erect and rounded annual shrub to 30 cm high. Scaly to silvery whitish in appearance. Monoecious.
Leaves ovate to elliptic, thin, crowded, 7–15 mm long, margins entire, sessile to subsessile, cuneate or truncate at the base.
Flowers in axillary clusters or glomerules. Fl. Most of the year.
Fruiting bracteoles with a thick stipe-like base 1–1.5 mm long, upper portion three-lobed with the central lobe prominent (duck’s foot like) 2–3.5 mm long. Tube deltoid, flattened, united in the lower half. Upper portion prominently nerved & reticulate, smooth or without appendages or with tubercules on one bracteole towards the base. Seed circular, radical lateral.
Distribution and occurrence: An uncommon species recorded occasionally in an area roughly from a line between Bourke and Broken Hill. Closely related to A. campanulata with which it intergrades.
