Description: Decumbent or erect herb, often greyish green owing to covering of long hairs, stems 4–10 cm high, rarely to 15 cm.
Leaves 6–9 mm long; stipules usually c. as long as petiole, not conspicuously veined, lobes ± triangular, about a quarter as long as undivided portion.
Sepals triangular, a quarter as long as fruiting hypanthium, slowly spreading in fruit, epicalyx about a quarter as long as sepals. Fruiting hypanthium 1.5–2 mm long.
Distribution and occurrence: Often colonizing disturbed areas. Native of Eur.
