Description: Large tree to 30 m high.
Leaves ± elliptic to narrow-oblong, 4–12 cm long, 2–5 cm wide, apex rounded or bluntly pointed, upper surface of mature leaves green, secondary veins ± straight, visible but not prominently raised on either surface, 12–20 pairs, tertiary veins reticulate; petiole 3–15 mm long.
Inflorescence to 5-flowered.
Fruit 3–5 cm diam., with a gynophore 10–20 mm long at the base; 1-seeded, with a lanceolate scar; ripe spring to summer.
Distribution and occurrence: in lowland subtropical rainforest on stony slopes, north from the Tweed R.
