Common name: Alyce Clover
Alysicarpus ovalifolius (Schumach.) J.Léonard APNI* Description: Erect, sprawling or prostrate annual; stems to 1 m tall, usually with ascending, strigose hairs.
Leaves 1-foliate; leaflet orbicular to narrowly ovate, rounded, truncate or retuse at apex, glabrous above, munite, appressed, unciate hiars on lower surface, 1.5–4 cm long, 1–2 cm wide; petiole 3–9 mm long; stipules c. 1 mm long.
Racemes up to 15 cm long, pedicels 0.5–2 mm long. Flowers c. 6 mm long, orange to red.
Pods up to 24 mm long, cylindical, not constricted between articles; glabrous or with minute uncinate hairs; articles up to 8, 2–3.5 mm long.
Flowering: Flowers and fruits summer–autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: A rare introduction in disturbed sclerophyll forest in the Grafton district.
