Allocasuarina brachystachya L.A.S.Johnson APNI* 
Description: Open, spreading shrub 1–3 m high, monoecious usually.
Branchlets to 7 cm long; articles 2–5 mm long, 0.4–0.7 mm diam.; teeth 5–7, erect, occasionally withering, 0.2–0.5 mm long.
Male spikes not or occasionally moniliform, 0.5–1.7 cm long, with 9–16 whorls of flowers per cm of spike; anthers 0.3–0.6 mm long.
Cones on peduncle 2–4 mm long; bracteoles truncate to obtuse.
Distribution and occurrence: Emmaville to west of Guyra and Moredun. In low open woodland on infertile sandy soils.
